I had been attending a one on one class with an artist friend. On our second meeting he taught me how yo draw a portrait with just pen and paper. So there. I drew my first piece for portraiture.

A smile with braces and a face with marks...P.S it was my first time trying out full fledged sketching, the paper got a bit torn in the process:(

By utilizing the beauty and flexibility of the Kufi writing style, the word "FATMA" is illustrated in a triangular shape. The word is sculpted on wood via simple tools and was colored with pencils and markers. For my beloved Mom.

The Palace of Fine Arts. I finally succeeded in making the background feel far away.

Unfinished value study for a painting, worked in graphite on hot pressed watercolor paper. Drafted and rendered using the Bargue method. Hopefully, I got the photo oriented correctly so that the drawing will be right side up, once I upload it! If anyone has advice for photographing a heavy application of graphite, without getting weird reflectiveness, or speckled effects, I’m very interested!

This is a pen and ink of my mother from a photo taken this October. No pencil outline and two hours with a .005 micron pen.

I recently gained just about 2k followers on IG and haven’t done a dtiys challenge in almost a year so I thought hey why not?

Pencil drawing I did of my family’s dog, Kiera. This was done for my neighbour’s birthday as a gift who is like a third grandmother in the family - she’s always loved Kiera.
